Australian lure anglers have long loved the original Ambush, a unique and highly respected design in the swimbait rod world. It soon became clear that everything the original did so well could also be achieved with lighter lures, leading to the development of the new Ambush 702L.

Designed around a generous sweet spot for 1oz to 2oz+ lures, this model is perfectly suited to targeting big barra and Murray cod with smaller swimbaits. Despite the lighter rating, the 702L still carries plenty of the trademark Ambush power, giving anglers the confidence to fish heavy cover and fight strong fish.

This lighter model introduces the innovative G-Clutch handle, delivering exceptional comfort and sensitivity. The minimalist reel seat design provides uninterrupted blank exposure beneath the hand, with no exposed locking hoods or threaded sections. The result is outstanding feedback and a handle that feels seamless in the hand, enhancing control and reducing fatigue.

Built using the advanced Armour 40-5 blank construction, the rod combines increased strength with the lightweight sensitivity Millerods are known for. An 11-guide plus tip-top Alconite ceramic guide train ensures smooth line flow and excellent control, while the custom anti-tangle hook keeper keeps lures secure between casts.
