Ian Miller’s passion for bass fishing began more than five decades ago, and the Millerods BFS Bass is the result of that lifelong pursuit of the perfect light-lure baitcast rod. In the early days, suitable tackle simply didn’t exist, so Ian spent years refining custom designs as new blanks and technology became available. The original SweetWater baitcast rod was born from this process, and today the BFS Bass carries that legacy forward using modern baitcast finesse technology.

Built around decades of Australian bass fishing experience, the BFS Bass combines extreme lightness, outstanding balance and exceptional sensitivity. The rod length is ideal for accurate casting into tight structure while still providing enough low-down power to confidently extract fish when needed. The smooth-loading blank action is perfectly suited to ultra-light lures, widening the release window and improving casting accuracy.

The blank features the advanced Armour 40-5 construction, reinforcing strength from butt to tip while maintaining the lightweight sensitivity Millerods are known for. A multi-guide train of ultra-light Kigan frames with 11 guides plus tip-top ensures smooth line flow and consistent casting performance. A custom anti-tangle hook keeper keeps lures secure between casts.

Finished with the Millerods Drifter-style handle, including a cork rear grip, carbon locking fore-grip, alloy fittings and a treated real timber barrel, the rod sits comfortably in the hand and offers excellent control. While designed for bass, the BFS Bass is equally suited to any baitcast finesse application where precision, sensitivity and fish-fighting authority are required.
